Ialomita County Museum was built-up in the second part of the Thdecade of the 20th century, when by 15th of February 1968 Law, regarding territorial administrative organization, Ialomita County was reestablished in Slobozia. That time, the museum was in Calarasi, in a historicalplace, functioning as a archeology-history department.
Its collection has a number of 25.000 pieces, that belongs to Ialomita County Patrimony, included in National Cultural Patrimony.
This is thematic organized and includes : archeology, history, ethnography, art „Nicolae și Zamfira Tuzlaru collection” (belonging to the museum since 2001).
